Product Details
Sablefish, often referred to as black cod, is a deep-sea species native to the cold waters of the North Pacific Ocean. Renowned for its velvety, buttery texture and rich flavour, it is a highly sought-after delicacy in fine dining and home kitchens alike. In addition to its exceptional taste, Sablefish is an excellent source of heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids, making it a nutritious choice as well as a flavorful one.
With the skin remaining, this keeps the fish perfectly moist when baked and keeps it's shape when roasted or pan-fried. Mild in flavour with a buttery texture, this fish can do it all. Sablefish has long been a staple in Asian cuisine, particularly in Japanese cooking where it's often prepared as miso-marinated black cod.
Top tip: if pan frying, defrost before use, pat the fish dry and place the fish in the pan, turning only once during cooking.
