Basa, also called pangasius, is farmed in South East Asia and is a fabulous fish. It is often overlooked because of its price point, which makes it even more impressive. To prepare our basa fish fillets the fish is filleted and quickly frozen to ensure the best quality product when you defrost it in your home. Basa is mild in flavour and absorbs flavour very well, so it is fit for whatever cuisine you throw at it. We like to dice the basa fish fillet and add it to curries or smother it in Mexican flavours to add to tacos. Frozen basa fish is brilliantly versatile, and it's well worth having some in stock in the freezer, ready to go when you are. Basa is low in calories and a great source of protein.
